Microneedling is based on the principle of making microscopic,
controlled wounds to the skin in order to stimulate healing.
The wounds are made with handheld instruments that are covered in needles. These needles are
not deep enough to cause permanent scarring. On the other hand, they are sufficient to stimulate
the release of endogenous growth factors, prompting the skin to essentially repair itself.
Microneedling disrupts the collagen that forms scars. This results in remodeling of the skin
tissue and significant cosmetic improvement.
During microneedling, adermaroller or dermapen is used. Here the size of the needles
can range from less than 1 millimeter to a few millimeters in length. They are all contained in
a handheld device. Also called a roller, the device is rolled along the treatment area, creating
small injuries.
Microneedling may provoke the release of factors that promote new cell growthand collagen
synthesis. Thus, it helps in rejuvenation and skin tightening.
It can also help in reducing pigmentation.
We apply a topical anesthetic to your scalp about 45 minutes prior to treatment. This helps
to reduce any pain you may feel.It takes around 10-15 mins after that.Repeat sessions are needed
at 15 days interval for 5-6 sessions.
